Hello all. I've been lurking around and finally decided to make my first post. I've been investing in the TSP since I joined the military. I've also been playing with a Roth IRA ever since I was 15. Once I got my first pay check, my old man took me to the credit union and started me up with the Roth. Right now I'm just focused on maxing out my Roth and TSP accounts. I've slowly been increasing my TSP contributions and am almost at my goal of maxing it out (currently on pace for ~$14,500 this year), but I'm sure once I do they'll raise the contribution limits so I'll have to chase it again. Got about 9 years left before I'm retirement eligible from the military, but will stay longer if they'll let me.

Outside of playing with IRAs and TSPs, I spend time with my wife and 2 boys. The wife was also active duty military, but turned in her boots to become a stay at home mom for now (at least until our youngest starts school).

I've already learned a ton since joining just a few months ago. Looking to keep building that knowledge to make more informed decisions with my Roth IRA and TSP accounts.

Welcome and thank you for you service. Don't be too worried about the max, remember the government wants tax money now and later, so I don't expect this number to drastically change in the near future.
    Good Luck!

    Happy Investing!
