I just asked it tell me if the S&P 500 using Gerald Appel's MACD on a weekly time frame was a buy, sell, or hold. I also asked when the last signal was.
How to trade stocks without emotion.
According to the market timing model designed by Gerald Appel that uses MACD, the S&P 500 index is currently in a buy signal on a weekly time frame. The MACD line (the blue line) is above the signal line (the orange line) and both are above zero, indicating increasing upward momentum. The last signal the weekly MACD provided was a buy signal on June 16, 2023, when the MACD line crossed above the signal line.
