Here's another Cars song that's NOT "user friendly", but always intrigued me !

TSP-R : Is that bar in 5/4 time ? I remember trying to figure out the "Mission Impossible" theme, as a junior high trombone player !!!

Think you're right about the 5/4 time. I believe good Buddy Ian Anderson used that time on "Living in the Past"...

Yeap, "Stoplight", you have it right; as you mentioned you played the trombone in junior high so you do know about the patterns and accents of bars and beats in music. The song "Touch and Go" the drums and bass are played in 5\4 notation; on the other hand the vocals, guitars and keyboards are playing in the 4\4 measure. This song was a tough one to learn back in the day, nevertheless once you have both measures figured out it's just a matter of practicing practicing. Touch and Go it's one of those intriguing songs. Thanks for posting. Do you still play the trombone??

    JFresno,

Yeah...Jethro Tull played some weird time signatures, too ! Guess that's why I always liked them...thanks for bringing that in (and the nod to my sig !)

TSP-R : Thanks for the post ! So the keyboard is in 4/4 ? Always wondered how Orr came in out of nowhere...

No, I no longer play trombone...college was ROTC and engineering classes...no time for "silly stuff" like "band" anymore ...one of my "life regrets"

Recently gave my old 'bone to a high school buddy, who had given HIS 'bone away to one of his deserving students when he retired...go figure ! Now, I just listen to my Bill Watrous albums...

Celebrity Chef Carl Ruiz Dead At 44, Last Tweets Feature Maryland Eateries

BALTIMORE (WJZ) — Celebrity chef Carl Ruiz, best known for his appearances on the Food Network, died suddenly Saturday. He was 44 years old.

Before his untimely death, Ruiz had spent at least Friday in Maryland — eating at restaurants in Baltimore and Harford County.

Some of the tweets from Ruiz seem eerie now as he joked about his “cold, dead black heart.”

Strangely Diahann Carroll came up in a conversation last week. My Mom always watched Julia and commented that it was about time. I was not sure what she meant back then. Mom was kind of an Eleanor Roosevelt type liberal. She never created a scene amongst the mainly conservative locals but always made sure us kids were aware of race issues. This was in a small town in NH where as far as I know there were no Afro Americans. The next town over had two Afro American families and we just accepted them as kids do, but of course were aware that they had darker skin and some made fun of that.
Miss you Mom and thanks for what you taught me.
