    Monkees Trivia, Mickey was the better lead singer and learned to play the drums for the show. Davey already could play the drums. Mike was the better bass player and Peter the better lead guitar player.
    for the show producers switched them all around for presentation, Davey had the heartthrob looks and was made the lead singer, so Mickey was put on drums, Mike had the better look for lead guitar and then Peter was made bass player. even the opening credits always show like peter is left out or forgotten about.

    This is an amazing documentary about them. You should watch it if you get a chance. Pretty sure it's on YouTube somewhere.
    Maybe someone will post a link. I just don't have time to look for it right now.....

    yes u got it.
    original band member and wrote most of their hit songs. Kansas is doing 50th yr tour this yr. Kerry left the band yrs ago and is now recovering from a stroke and doing pretty good.
