    Default Stock index Valuations

New highs for the new year were made yesterday (1/2/2020) with the momentum from December bleeding into 2020. New highs are great for investors who already own company shares but what about the underinvested? One can be more selective when picking individual stocks but when the you have three choices (C, S, and I) for TSP stock investments you've got to value entire indices to make your decision.

The collective P/E ratio for an index has its benefits to decide whether indices' market prices match their values. Another potentially useful measure is the index price to the hourly cost of the average American worker.

I'll leave you there with this interesting read:

The stock market’s rally to start 2020 means it will take the average worker a record 114 hours to buy one unit of the S&P 500

Dot com bubble or reasonably priced?

This article compares charts of the P/E ratio, CAPE ratio, price to sales ratio, yield spread between the S&P 500 and the 10 year treasury note, and the equity risk premium. Together they produce mixed outlooks on how pricey stocks seemingly are.

These 5 charts show the debate over whether the stock market set up for another dot-com crash
