Thread: Euro Softening Near Term?

    Default Euro Softening Near Term?

So do you believe the Euro is taking a breather before heading higher? Or maybe this is the top for the intermediate term. I personally don't see the Euro heading higher and am surprised at the current run given the economic problems in the Euro zone.

But when you look at all the treasuries being bought by the FED, a weak dollar might keep the Euro buoyant for a while. Comments?

For those riding the I fund wave, we may have seen a peak. The interesting part of this article is the Purchasing Power Parity paragraph. This tends to add fact to the article instead of speculation.

Not mentioned in this article declines in other currencies compared to the dollar. I think I am going to sit on the sideline.

Emo, your link led me to another interesting site-one i've bookmarked and will be integrating into my thinking about when and what to do. I don't do forex, but having idea whats going on definitely helps with thought processes.

Thanks for sharing the link. Being the global reserve currency makes needing to know some forex basics almost essential these days. The reason I think to lighten the exposure to I fund is that the last time I checked, the majority of the top holdings of the EFA were based in the Euro. So even if the the rest of the currencies were bullish, the exposure to the Euro is so high that it would be a major headwind for any positive gains. Just my 2 cents.
