Best Buy Co. Inc. announced on its blog that it will make in-store consultations available by appointment at 200 locations starting in May. "Since each customer's appointment will have a dedicated sales associate, there will be a limited number of customers in the store at any one time to ensure appropriate social distancing takes place," the post said. During these consultations, staff must wear gloves and masks, social distancing guidelines must be adhered to, an employee app will be available for daily self-health checks and areas of the store will be sanitized before and after each appointment. Best Buy is also resuming in-home repair and installation service where it's allowed, Chief Executive Corie Barry said in a letter to customers, with employees following many of these safety measures. Best Buy recently said that it has held on to 70% of its year-over-year sales, with online sales soaring. Best Buy stock was up 3.5% in Wednesday trading and has gained 9.3% over the last year. The S&P 500 index is up 0.3% for the past 12 months.

My problem with Best Buy is that they ran out of laptop Dell computers right after everybody was sent home. I decided that i really wanted to get a new laptop, but the only thing they had left in a Dell was a $1200 model. I really want to spend only like $400 or less. Two months ago they had a ton of choices in that range, but between the Chinese shutdown, the US shutdown, and the run on laptops as suddenly everybody was working from home, there wasn't any cheap stock left! Still isn't.
