Thread: Investors flock to neuro drug makers after FDA approves new schizophrenia drug

That one is significant. I would like to learn more about this drug. Schizophrenia treatment is sorely lacking for the right drugs. Some work for some people, but for far too many, it still is a mystery. Every new drug that is approved gives hope and possible treatment options to people that aren't otherwise able to find help.

I wonder what the price of this will be- that's the other part of new drugs- the companies can't sell them until insurance companies will cover them, and often times insurance won't because of the prices.

Crap- bad news. The drug was approved, despite some testing showing it was no more effective than the placebo. And the price is not yet released, although one invemtment company is saying it will be in the $900 a month range (too high), and they expect it to next $60 million the first year, and $400 million the second year. The only way that will happen is if it turns out to actually work. It's a new class of psychiactric drug. if it doesn't beat the placebo, you can bet it won't be very successful on the market except for trying on people who did not have anything else work.
Caution is merited.
