TSP Talk Blog

This and that about the market, the TSP, maybe some politics, and life.

  1. TSP Talk: Valuations vs. stimulus

Stocks rallied again yesterday with the Dow rallying 260-points and the Nasdaq leading the way with a gain of nearly 2%. Small caps lagged a bit but still had another solid day. Bonds were flat, as was the dollar. The bulls are loving it but the question I keep asking is how many times can the market rally on the stimulus? It doesn't seem like a real market, but it continues to work.

  2. TSP Talk: Is it time to sell the news?

Modest gains for the Dow, and solid gains elsewhere on Tuesday after last week's pre-holiday selling. The Dow lost 69-points, and the S&P 500 is actually down for the week, but money seems to go somewhere everyday, as cash is being treated like the plague.

  5. TSP Talk: Mixed bag in the indices

The dollar rallied and that put some pressure on stocks on Wednesday, although the indices were fairly mixed. The Dow lost 8-points, the Transports and small caps were each down about a half of a percent, while the S&P 500 and Nasdaq both rallied. Bonds (F-fund) rallied off its support line, and the I-fund struggled with the dollar up on the day.
