Investors are losing hope with the weak perfomance and ugly charts in the midst what has usually been a positive time of year for stocks. What has been especially troubling is that good news turns into an opportunity to sell. Investors are looking for ways out of stocks quickly now that the term bear market has become a common reference to stocks.

A 90-day truce in the trade war between the U.S. and China over the weekend loosened up geopolitical tensions enough for stocks to open higher Monday. A rout in technology stocks brought down stock indices to start the week with the selloff in Apple leading the cause. This was on top of the added angst of an economic summit over the week that was labeled as anything but successful. Disagreements between China and the U.S. were critical issue for investors who have been dealing with the ups and down of trade discussion for too long.

    Stocks produced their first week of losses in November after selling off for three consecutive days to start the week. Buyers showed up late to the party but two days of gains Thursday and Friday took back nearly half of the losses that had come by Wednesday's close. News about ongoing trade negotiations with China along with poor economic data from October gave traders catalysts to make moves.
