The market turned and favored the stockholders this last week. All three TSP stock funds were up more than 2% for the week with the S-fund reaching a return of 2.92%. Three TSP Talk AutoTracker members outperformed the S-fund in the week, and they all had one thing in common: They started the week holding the S or I-fund and moved to 100% C-fund mid-week.

Both the I-fund and the S-fund outperformed the C-fund early in the week. But starting Wednesday, the C-fund began to catch up when it ended the day flat while the S and I-fund took modest losses.

Here are this week’s top three returns and the IFTs they used to get that title:

The gains for the week were put together on Monday, Tuesday, and Friday. Thursday’s action started with declines greater than 1% across the indices, but buyers showed up pushing prices higher and the TSP funds were left with modest losses of approximately 0.5%.

The follow-through gains on Friday were a good sign for the market and may attract more investors on the sidelines to do some buying.

There are only two days left in April and the race for best return for April is tight in the TSP Talk AutoTracker. Two members are tied in first place each with returns of 3.07% for the month while currently holding 100% S-fund. Those members are Johnny and cowboyaug4. Johnny currently holds the best return for 2024 as well.

These two are not alone at the top. Other members are still able to take the top return for the month. Felixthecat is one of them carrying an April return of 3.03% while holding 50% C and 50% S-fund. Almost any outperformance by the C-fund over the S-fund over the next two days will push felixthecat to the top to win the April title and top prize.
