  1. CGA, Ready to Breakout

Just thought I'd cover an interesting stock I've been following. CGA is China Agriculture, a Chinese company similar to that of MOS, MON or DE and may be a good pick to benefit from the upcoming inflation move that I believe is sure to hit in the next few months.

CGA appears ready to breakout from it's second base consisting of 11 weeks. Volume dried up towards the back end of the base just before the big volume surge. Pivot point is 13.78-13.80. Watch for a break of this level ...

  2. Emotional Whipsaw

That's what this market has been. An emotional whipsaw. I'm primarily speaking about sentiment and the tendency for the market to get beared up almost every time the market looks poised for a decline. And the bears have been wrong to a fault.

I thought we'd see some follow-through action to the downside today, and we did for about 20minutes. And then the market began its upward march, closing with some nice gains in all three TSP equity funds.

  4. Another Quick Reversal

We should be getting used this by now. Moderate reversals, which often have enough follow-through to shake Intermediate Term investors out of their positions. It's easy to say that due to our handcuffed IFT requirements stronger hands are required to get through this kind of volatility, and I intend to have stronger hands, but that doesn't mean I can't get fooled by a more pronounced sell-off than has been typical the past few months. I need other indicators to help me. After Friday's action (which ...

  5. Buy and Hold Thoughts

Some random musings and thoughts of mine on the ever lasting buy and hold debate.

    - It only works if the bear hits early in your career. Many folks will not live the life of retirement they envisioned because the bear hit late in their career. (This could also be attributed to poor risk management.)

    - In a bull market you'll look like a genius when everyone else is trying to call the top.

    - In a bear market, Buy and Holders seek solace ...
