    10/12/12

    Stocks opened higher yesterday after a much better than expected initial jobless claims report. But the excitement passed by late morning and the Dow closed down 18-points, which was 102-points off of its morning high.

  3. Earnings season


    10/11/12

    Earnings season got off to a rocky start yesterday as Alcoa beat estimates modestly, but their less than exciting forward guidance sent the stock down 5% and took the Dow (-129) with it. Fortunately for the bulls, the other indices weren't hit quite as hard, but they still closed down on the day.

    10/10/12

    Stocks continued to pull back from their post-jobs report early spike on Friday, and while the Dow (-110-points) and S&P 500 (-14) are still in uptrends, we are seeing some downtrends in some indices.

  5. Signs of weakness


    10/09/12

    Stocks were mixed for a second day in a row after Friday's surprise jobs report. The Dow gained 35-points on Friday and lost 27 on Monday, but the S&P 500, Nasdaq, and small caps were each down on both days.
