Stocks rallied yesterday as it seems as if the market is pricing in a deal being made in the fiscal cliff negotiations. The Dow jumped 115-points and we saw 1% to 2% gains in most of the major stock indices.

Stocks opened and closed strongly yesterday kicking off what the bulls are hoping is this year's Santa Claus rally. The Dow gained 100-points closing near the highs of the day.

The Dow lost 36-points on Friday, as a late afternoon sell-off took the indices from modest gains to modest losses for the week.

It's been a bit of a roller coaster in the indexes the past few weeks and we are about to head into the holidays soon. Seasonality is positive this time of year, and as most of us are quite aware there are numerous political/economic issues weighing on investors and traders alike. We went into last week looking at some pretty strong chart action, and into Wednesday it looked like we were going to get some solid breakouts. Then, at the conclusion of the Fed's FOMC meeting, the market indices reversed themselves and we ended with a flat to mixed week.
