    It was a choppy trading day to start the new week, but the upward bias was still in evidence as stocks began the session lower and chopped their way modestly higher before some late selling pressure ended the trading day in mixed fashion.

    The dollar reversed its recent decline and ended the day down about 0.3%. The pressure was attributed to Fed Chairman Bernanke's weekend interview where he stated the Fed might consider further stimulus if necessary.

    Is this Bull past its prime?

    This is a 2-day chart of T2117, it covers stocks traded on the NYSE and calculates new highs for the last 52 weeks, then divides by new highs & new lows. I've added a 50 SMA to show the direction this indicator is headed. With the 50 SMA we can see a divergence because prices are currently at the same levels as last April yet this indicator is clearly not.

    Looking for a breakout- Stocks opened lower on Friday, after a much weaker than expected November employment report. Things then drifted sideways for most of the day but a late rally took the indices into positive territory, and by the close the Dow was up 20-points...

  5. TSP Talk Weekly Wrap Up - 12/04/10

    Stocks seem to want to go higher

    After starting the week with some negative action, stocks rebounded strongly on Wednesday with the help of a positive ADP weekly employment report. The rally continued on Thursday and ironically, after a much weaker than expected November monthly jobs report, the market moved up again on Friday. It seems as if the market is just looking for any reason to move higher, despite the many warning signs that we see around us.
