  1. TSP Talk - AI trades are working, but small caps fade the S&P

Stocks were choppy on Monday but the large caps held onto solid gains despite closing well off their highs. AI news pushed big tech higher, which led and took the Nasdaq and S&P 500 with it. Investors alternate between buying large and small cap stocks, as the small caps lagged yesterday with yields continuing to rally. Higher yields also hurt the F-fund, and the I-fund was flat as the dollar moved higher.

  2. TSP Talk - Top Talk is building as stocks sell off again

Stocks sold off again on Friday capping off a very choppy week for the market. The Dow dropped 191-points and a tough day for large cap tech pulled down the Nasdaq and S&P 500. The small caps of the S-fund led with just a minor loss on the day, but for the week it was the small caps that lagged as rising yields has put some pressure on the smaller companies. The I-fund continues to lead for the month of March.

  3. TSP Talk Weekly Wrap Up - The Early Exit

The market favored the G-fund last week. All of the TSP funds outside of the G-fund were down by the end of the week. Tuesday was the only day for the bulls, especially if they held the C-fund. The C-fund gained 1.12% on Tuesday alone yet suffered a loss to some degree the other four days of the week. Anyone who held the C-fund and moved to the G-fund on Tuesday would have locked in a weekly gain of over 1%. Only one member among TSP Talk made that move this week: Booster.

  4. TSP Talk - PPI punches the market in the eye

A late rally helped salvage a rough day on Wall Street after another inflationary economic report. The PPI report was much hotter than expected and stocks, which opened higher, started to sell off. If not for that late rally, it was looking like some kind of a washout day, but support was holding in some key areas. The losses in the three main large cap indices were moderate with each losing near 0.3%, but small caps do not like higher interest rates and bond yields were up big.

  5. TSP Talk - Stocks mixed as bulls and bears make their cases

Stocks were mixed on Wednesday with the Dow and small caps up, the S&P 500 and Nasdaq down, and the I-fund flat. A lot of that had to do with Nvidia closing 1% lower on the day, which took the S&P and Nasdaq down with it, while the other indices, not directly impacted by the big tech stock, were able close positive. Bond yields were up again pushing the F-fund lower.
