  2. TSP Talk Weekly Wrap Up

    We've been wondering for months what was capable of shaking this relentless upside in stock indices; it turned out to be amateur investors forcing the hand of hedge fund short positions. It was a very interesting development this week and will have its own consequences in some form; but it was a small drop in a big bucket. What it did do is distract from earnings reports and the status quo trading regimens to shed off more than 3 or 4 percent in the indices in just three days.

  4. TSP Talk: A strong rebound gets heavy by the close

    Stocks rebounded on Thursday after Wednesday's surprise sell off. Point-wise, it was a good day but the rebound wasn't all that impressive as the indices closed well off their earlier highs. The Dow ended the day with a gain of 300-points or 1%. The S&P 500 had a similar gain and the Nasdaq lost a lot of steam in the final couple of hours and gained just 0.50% after closing about 200-points of its high of the day. Bonds were down, as was the dollar.
