Should I stay or should I go ---The Clash.
Alcoa starts off on the afternoon of the 11th (April).

Seems to be that Japan will have a minor pull on this quarters earnings because the disaster happened late in the quarter. The real toll should be seen in Q2 earnings reports.
Of note though is the many revisions down of future earnings for companies / industries impacted.
Also I read somewhere that none of the major companies impacted are due to report next week, they will report in the follow on weeks.

Predicting how the markets will react to the Q1 reports can give us opportunities to jump in or jump out. OK I'll say it, thank you Capt. Obvious.

So I'll start with just a few things on the subject.

Investors may take profit and look into the future. I still reprehended in going into the I-Fund. "Japan's crisis, turmoil in Europe and unrest in the Middle East have investors worried that we’ll all be thrown back into the throes of global recession." Remember the market looks into the future not the present.
