Hi - I just joined the forum, so thought I'd start here. I've been contributing to the TSP for the last three years, since I started teaching for the DOD in Okinawa. The first couple years were all about making contributions to build up an egg. I sat out 2008-9 in the G-fund, spent 2009-10 in the L2040, then did my own diversified thing for the last few months of 2010 (mainly cut G-Fund out of my diet, and spread it over S and I). As of January 4th, I'm following the Sentiment Survey (I missed the big gains on the first day of trading!:mad:). I figure the next 4-5 years I'm going to try an aggressive approach, then diversify from my 40s on to retirement. I'm still pretty new at all this though, and looking forward to learning as I go.
