The only problem may be me. I couldn't figure out how to attach a file to a PM to another member.

What type of file is it?

I haven't tried it, but there is a site like Photobucket.com, called File Bucket (http://filebucket.info). You upload your file there, then you can use the link feature in PM to give it to the PM recipient.

Let us know how it goes. I'll try it too.

i got the spreadsheet PessOptimist, thanks.

where do you get the month-end numbers from? quarterly statements? do you have to log on to the tsp website and repeatedly search for balance information as of each date?

what about if i had a tsp general loan out for some of the time? that would skew the contribution numbers when the money got paid back each PP right?

i will play around with it a bit, might take some time. i'm not very motivated when it comes to data entry or scrutinizing the past. but it's on my list.

thanks for sharing.

The end of month balance has to come from the web site since 1 Jun 03 when they started sending quarterly statements. I did it that way since my TSP was started 1 Jan 98 and I had all ready entered the eom numbers for 98-mid 03. Using your quarterly ending balance will work you just won't have as smooth a curve.

Your employee contributions on the top of the second page of your statement will have to be added up and entered manually if you want a running total of what you actually contributed out of your pocket. The "increase/decrease in value" entry is a magic number that shows the earnings on the contributions. Just the way FRTIB chooses to do it. The "contributions and additions" entry on the first page includes matching contributions.

That is one of the reasons I did this sheet. I wanted a running total of what actually came out of my pay.

I all depends on what you want to see.

YMMV
