As before these are the 3 things I watch. I went to I Thursday night 100%.

And this site's author went to G on 3/26. I don't understand? Please tell me what I don't see? I'll let you know how I did on Monday.

Lucky,

I don't understand either! Why would you make a move of 100% to I on thursday night for Monday? Maybe I'm missing something here, but its a long weekend and alot can happen. Also I don't think you need to post your results for Monday. Everyone on this board will know how the funds are doing!;)

Maybe you are Lucky!:D

I have been explaining what has worked for me. I moved to I on Thursday night when I saw Japan way up. It was way up again on Friday. Nothing happens over the weekend as the market is closed...duh. I thought this board was for opinions!

I've been very happy with my TSP. Take my reasoning or leave it.If you think G is better, have at it!!! I will still post my results on Monday, you don't have to read them someoneelse might want to!

Lucky,

I don't remember saying anything about the G fund. Was just trying to understand your reasons for the timing of you move. Sorry if my questions hurt your feelings.

i also was looking at the I fund recently. maybe someone here can help me if i am wrong. the figures i am going to use is close to what i currently have in my TSP account. i am currently in C-60%, S-20% and I-20%.

C-417 shares-current value-$11.65-$4,859.00

S-65 shares-current value-$12.86-$836.68

I-73 shares-current value-13.15-962.00

total=$6,658.00

now my common sense is telling me that i would be better off having everything in the "I" fund where i would have 555 shares for a total of $7,298.25 instead of $6,658.00. am i missing something? it would seem better to keep all the money in the fund that has the most current high value. yes there would lose money on the days other funds gain but at the end of the day my fund would still be worth more than the others because of the price of the shares. opinions please. thanks mike

You wouldn't have 555 shares of the I. You would only have as many shares as your $6,658 would buy you.

dave,

thanks. i knew i was missing something. i went back to the 4th grade with my math and figured it down to the penny as of closing friday. if i switched everything to the I fund i would actually have 9 cents less in my account than i have now.

Friday I moved 30% to the I fund, effective Monday. I noticeLucky hasn't posted today. I hope he returns, especially based on what we are all doing Monday 100% I fund. :)
