When we make an IFT before noon TSP reconciles our account based on the shares in whatever funds you had before the move. Today I initiated an IFT before noon to the G fund and I received a statement that shows my balance does not reflect today's earnings from the fund my shares were in.

I hope I artculated that properly.

If you bail to the G fund on a down day they certainly take everything you lost. What gives?

If you initiate a move today before noon, it is not executed until 7 p.m. tonight, and you should be credited for today's earnings. You will not be able to see the trade, however, until tomorrow morning.

If you look today at noon at your balance, you'll see one number. Then look at the amount traded tonight (look at it in the morning) and you'll see the extra pennies (or dollars, if your account is large enough) tomorrow.

Make sense?

Are you absolutely sure they didn't credit your account with today's earnings? You won't be able to see today's G fund earning numbers until the morning. (or on the transaction confirmation sent out overnight, if you get it by e-mail).

I got it James, but you always receive an email showing your account balance after 9:00 pm showing the IFT. The email amount did not reflect the additional shares earned. A call to TSP straightened it out. They had to check the balance as of the COB on the 25th, the IFT on the 26th and correct the balance for the 27th. I'm straight.

So now we have to start checking our balances daily to make sure they didn't make a mistake? Great............................:(

I always do; no errors so far; except as far as getting e-mail confirmations to begin with; it turns out that the Department of Interior's spam blocker (a contractor) - has recently started to intercept some, but not all, e-mail confirmation statements from TSP.gov.

Sweet!!!
