And we all know who want have to pay the additional costs, because our taxes will be raised to pay their bills, like we are currently paying for their mortgages. An extra $140 a year to get rid of dirty coal and make for clean air, and energy independence? Not a bad investment, if you ask me.

I think it is highly unlikely that it will pass, due to the nature of all the political forces aligned against it. Personally, I wouldn't mind a bit. But I don't think it will pass.

I WOULD like to see more emphasis on renewable energy- like ethanol.


Corn- the better fuel.

No foreign imports needed. No cash to the middle east. No toxic pollution from MTBE. 19% lower pollution.

But thought an alternate view may be worthwhile.

President Obama appears to be the FIRST PRESIDENT in history who has made a point of establishing HIGH PROVILE EXPERTS in the Field of Energy (in his Administration) - and those most qualified to assess the real heath of our Planet. Given their degree of knowing the total impact of the wide variety of Potiential Energy Sources and all the more their knowledge of the adverse impact our Carbon Rich (Oil/Coal) Energy Sources are doing - I'd say it's highly unlikely that anyone on the MB would be even remotely qualified to challenge the plan for a vastly improved and far more sustainable Energy Souce.

For the very first time there appears to be a genuine effort to create sources of ENERGY that are not only healthy for our Planet but all the more are designed to enhance it's health and take advantage of sources that are endless and in harmony with the Universe.

Therefore we need to try to forget that he is African American, that he is a Man, that he is a Demoncrat, that he is married, or has children, or whatever manner we can potientially discredit him because of our prejudical - subjective point of views.

And all of us simply need to rally together AS ONE - AND BE A PART OF A NEW AND BETTER ATMOSPHERE - THAT FULLY SUPPORTS A PRESIDENT DETERMINED TO MAKE THE BEST CHANGES POSSIBLE - AND NOT ONLY FOR OUR GENERATION BUT FOR ALL GENERATIONS TO COME.

However, if the 2 biggest polluters, China and Russia, don't participate, the so called global warming emissions reduction will be minimal and they have already indicates that they will not participate. China is currently bringing a new coal fired unit on line every 10 days.

So between the gov't returning the bulk of the cap and trade money, to offset the reduction cost and the commies not playing ball, I wouldn't count on much happening, except our costs going up because I sure don't see cap money coming back to us, since bHo, has already indicated that money will be used to fund his social programs. I should've used the :rolleyes: icon when I quoted that price.

Mondays are always my busiest days - and hence I probably sound way too serious :( but it's only because I have no other choice but to state things bluntly and as fast as possible.

My neighbors and I - stopped an ETOH Plant from going in our county - and if it were enviromentally 'friendly' we would not have pushed so hard against it.

THESE PLANTS USE THE MOST VITAL RESOURCE 'WATER' - and turn it into garbage. We're talking millions and millions of gallons of good fresh water.

SO I'D SAY - COME UP WITH A BETTER PLAN
