They are in the same boat as most investment companies. I would like to see the FRTIB's opinion on what they would do if Barclay's actually ran into insolvency.:suspicious:

One good thing to remember....

Your Congressman, and both your Senators, have their TSP accounts too......

I was explaining something about the TSP to my dad one evening, can't remember what it was. And he remarked, "Yes, it must be nice having the same retirement system as your Congressional delegation." I'd never thought of it that way before that. :D

BCS offered positive guidance today throwing cold water on any rumors - let's hope they aren't being mendacious because I do own them.

Hope so, Birch. I believe you did mention you had them in your stash awhile back. There've been mumblings and underfoot rumblings over there for several months now.

Dont worry about barclays. They are just a vendor. They hold the funds seperate and dont mix our money with others. If they go under our money is secure. Same goes for IRA's. If you have money in a Fidelity or Vanugard IRA. The have the money in the fund. If the company goes bankrupt the money is still in the fund and cant go to creditors.

pfft. Money is not secure....the Board even made an issue of it at a meeting. And no I don't remember when but anyone can pull up the minutes and find the information. It's also in the TSP FAQ. Barclays and the Board have NO liability.

Reason for taking away our daily IFT's. Barclays. Now Abu Dhabi is dumping Barclays before the instruments convert to more Barclays stock. It takes a dive. What's next for TSP to cover that.
