So here is the situation.

1. We get paid every other Thursday.
2. Last Thursday would have been our payday.
3. Since it fell on New Years, the payday was moved to the day before.
4. So the paycheck was paid in 2008 instead of 2009.

It doesnt sound like much because 2008 got 27 paychecks and 2009 will only get 25, right? But in that "extra" paycheck, there was no money taken out for any of my FSAs as it was based on 26 paychecks and not 27. I confirmed this morning that my 2009 FSA contributions are based on 25 paychecks and not 26.

Does anyone know if this impacts anything else besides FSAs? The annual leave accrued 10 hours instead of 6 which is typical for last pay period of the year, except in this case it means I accrued 166 hours of leave instead of 160. Taxes were all adjusted, but that's due to not having the FSAs I guess.
