What an informative site...

I am a new member.

I found this site after googling about TSP info. I am trying to figure out the best initial aggresive allocation for the TSP without breaking the bank account.

Already vested in a20 year non-government union pension with an additional 10 years to invest in the TSP. New government employee...this is my first involvement with the TSP.

Any ideas about a suggestion for a veryagressive allocation for the first year?

I hope that this is not too "dumb" a question:D

Thanks.

Welcome!:)

If you want to get "very aggressive" while not "breaking the bank" and simply keep your allocations steady for ayear, then you may want to try:

40C

40S

20I

This is assuming you understand each fund, and know when to "run for cover" when needed.

God Bless:^

Welcome rozeredux!

Like Rod said, lot's of C, S and I funds for an aggressive portfolio. But if you stick around here you'll have a better idea about why, and when it may be time to get less aggressive.

Thanks for joining us!

Welcome rozeredux.
All I can say is Diversify! As you will see we like to move our alocations around, I am 40G 60 C for tomorrow and 20C 70S 10I for Monday. When it starts to go south run to the G. Have fun!
