Sigh. Bailout without Regulation! Again! And this is supposed to make me feel reassured? How many shoes are going to drop? I feel like the taxpayer is now a cobbler for a centapede!

Impact on residential mortgage rates? Good time for refinancing!:) Some lenders will do a modification of interest rates if it hasn't been too long since the original mortgage was issued. Saves a bundle on refi closing costs, etc.
Rate for 30 year fixed at my lender was 5.625% 9-9-08 with prospects for further declines in rates over the next few days. Could be worthwhile to look into. Make lemonade from lemons, etc.
