View Full Version : Be Very Careful Of What You Say Here

A relative of mine just received a fedex personal letter from Gregory Long quoting information and messages from this board made by me - specifically word for word - so be very careful about what you say because they have obviously a number of readers on this site and any negative comment seems to be specifically noted word for word and I would not be suprised at all if anyone that is limited to doing IFT transfers by TSP-50's are having games played with their forms in terms of how they are entered as in a timely fashion as a form of vindictiveness so be very careful about what you say and how you say it nor would I hold my breath about being reinstated to doing IFT's on the TSP website will happen anytime soon.

I guess the idea of managing ones' own money will simply not be allowed unless you just buy and hold and take that 10% hit we got at the beginning of the year. I seriously never thought freedoms to save for ones' own future would basically be taken out of your hands no matter what you level of trading/investing experience but that seems to be the case.

To reiterate Mr. Long was very specific about all comments related about him quoting specifically from this website.

Did he only quote you? Does he know that you are a relative of the person that got the letter?

Yes he knows that I am a relative because I stated in certain messages on this board that I was the son of the Federal Employee which he made reference to in his personal letter to my relative as Greg or Craig.. The letter without going into detail implied that the person with the tsp account seemed to lack knowledge of the markets and that jumping in and out was not beneficial to overall gains. I don't want to read too much into this on this site but just to reiterate to be very careful what you say and how you say it because there are definitely implied consequences which were none too subtle. As to the ability to carry out those consequences that's another matter all together.

This fedex letter was directly passed over to the Fed employee's 2 U.S. senators and representatives.

Thanks for sharing.

When we post we need to do so with the understanding that anyone can be reading, and apparently anything we say, can and will be used against us.

It is after all, a public forum so consider using PM's if you have something private or sensitive to say to someone.

Thanks

Just as a follow up what seemed to bother Mr. Long the most and that he actually quoted in the fedex letter from this website from one of my threads which I find to be indicative of too much time on his hands and perhaps not enough oversight was my reference to him as "Huey Long" who anyone associated with Louisiana knows he ran it like his own personal fiefdom - he basically did anything he wanted without consequences and also I perhaps used some unchoice descriptions of acts that one cannot perform on oneself sheerly out of frustration for the reason that it seems beyond his ability and the board too leave things well enough alone but it is what it is. :D

Good luck too one and all.

Although I can't speak to the rest of the post you made, your reference seems accurate. The response you desribe strikes me as VERY unprofessional and definitley not something I'd expect from a person in Mr. Long's position.

We Have Nothing To Fear But Fear Itself !!!

Do You Believe That Any Member Of The Military Would Ever Stand Down Or Back Down From A Man Who Lives In The United States ? We Have Fought For The Very Freedom To Speak Our Minds And I For One Would Never Back Down From This Man Or The Frtib.

That Would Disrespect Our Sons And Daughters Who Have Fought And Died For The Freedom We Have Today.

Mr. Long Can Take All The Quotes He Wants Bottom Line He And The Frtib Violated Our Rights And No One Will Ever Have Enough Power To Shut Up The Men And Women Of The Military Except God Himself And Last I Checked All Of The Frtib Aren't Above The Law Or God.

It's always a shame and disappointing... Not what you know but who you know... Just because someone occupies a position high up on the food chain doesn't mean they have the knowledge, skill, ability or personal honor or integrity to fullfill the duties satisfactorly. Mr. Long is a shining example and with what we used to call rabbit ears. Obviously can't keep reading all of this just to confirm he's in a position of authority and hoping to catch a glimpse that somehow he's right. Having to use those words could be looked at as gloating but in this case it feels like he can't support his own position and instead chooses to shoot others down like a 7 year old on the playground. What a shame, but it's inherit in our system.

Our system is also a cycle and it will eventually cycle back. In the end he will offend another just a bit higher up on the chain than he is and his world will tumble. Most others survive those times because they have personal honor. How many times have we all seen this....

We take the higher road and the reflection that looks us back in the morning isn't so bad. The higher road doesn't mean we roll over and take it. We give it our best shot.... with honor....

Ironic in that this would be the same group who went to the Media and reported that a group of members were abusing the rules. Ya'll seemed so proud you ran to the Washington Post. Then what about reviewing all the letters proposed. Please it takes 2 weeks to get an IFT transfer processed it should take about 10 years to read and process all the complaints and letters you received unless they were never read and the process was a complete joke you were pushing this through even if 4 million letters oppose it.

Problem is there was no violation of rules and not one person out of the 3.8 to 3.9 million did anything wrong. We played by your rules and a proposal is not a law until passed but you locked members out of their accounts based upon a proposal. How anyone could recover the money you owe them would be up to a Federal Judge.

You want to change policy then just say it don't make excuses or now try to flex your muscles to attempt to intimidate those who stand up for their rights. This is America to target a group and label them as abusing the system is wrong. To target a group and use that in the media as a tool to change policy is wrong. To target a group and laugh as they are forced to mail the form 50 is wrong. To try to shut people up or intimidate those who stand up for their rights is wrong. To take our money then change the playing field is wrong and not allow the members to move their funds as they choose is wrong. So there I said it you are all wrong for your actions at the TSP.

Happened to me, and others here as well.

This has gotten pretty sophmoric. Next thing you know, Long will tell us he's gonna take his ball and go home.

Unfortunately his 'ball' is OUR money!

With all this money the TSP has saved by holding my money hostage in the G fund this month(it's made a whopping 3 yes 3 whole cents so far this month) maybe I can retire in 50 or 60 more years! Why is the G fund taking 6 to 7 days to go up a whole penny with all us abusers on the sidelines?Answer=no money no retirement. They keep us working to pay for their money mismanagement!!

Well I won't back down, no I won't back down
you could stand me up at the gates of hell
but I won't back down

Gonna stand my ground, won't be turned around
and I'll keep (The FRTIB) from draggin' me down
gonna stand my ground and I won't back down

Hey baby, there ain't no easy way out
hey I will stand my ground
and I won't back down

Well I know what's right, I got just one life
in a world that keeps on pushin' me around
but I'll stand my ground and I won't back down

Hey baby there ain't no easy way out
hey I will stand my ground
and I won't back down
No, I won't back down
