View Full Version : Interest in a "helper" program for Quicken/Money?

I always wanted to get serious about tracking my TSP account, but the barrier for me was getting data into Quicken so I could analyze it. I'm just too busy/lazy to type it all in. Recently I started writing a little script to generate "buy shares" transactions every payday (as a QIF file I could import). I got a little obsessive and added more and more "features"... now I have a program that :

-downloads prices from the TSP site (any dates)
-extracts balances, transactions, and prices from quarterly statements(pdfs)
-automatically generates transactions every payday (in progress)

The info is exported in QIF or CVS format to your financial application. Its a java program and runs on Windows, Linux, and Mac.

I'm thinking about polishing it up and putting it out as donationware, but I would need help testing (I only have my own limited set of investment data to work with) and finalizing the user interface. Anyone out there who would use a program like this? Willing to be a tester?

Jeff

Yes - good stuff. We've communicated quite a bit and the idea of extracting data from quarterly statements is his.

Do you have the complete TSP share prices from inception? Thanks,
