I just received my 2007 Thrift Savings Plan Annual Participant Statement. After 15 years my Primary Beneficiary Information had changed some what and was incorrect! The TSP did not spell my Beneficiary name correctly. I was put on hold while they checked my TSP-3 to see if my hand writing was hard to read. It was checked out and found to be legible. They concluded that it was "copied" wrong onto my annual statement. I really felt uneasy about this and wondered if some thing happened to me, would my family suffer any needless problems with my estate? Can I trust the math? Are there any checks and balance in effect when information is transcribed onto new forms! Check your statement very carefully when you receive yours!
