Does anyone hold this account? I'd like to know how it works exactly. From what I understand, you can use any of the money that's not tied up in stocks or commodities as a checking account with a check-card and checks. I also understand that any money not invested in seperate commodities earn interest competitive with most money market accounts. Is this true?

I would love to get more details on how this account works and what people's impressions of it are. Thanks alot for any feedback.

Sorry I can't help you on this one. I was hoping that someone who has one of these accounts would post, but it looks like no one picked up yet.

I HAVE been a USAA insurance and banking customer for almost 20 years, and they are the absolute best in those areas. I also know they have great customer support, and if you call them and ask them how it works, I know they will assign a person to talk to you and walk you through everything.

I have always given USAA credit for working above and beyond the call of duty. I now have my homeowners and auto insurance, along with my banking through them. I used to have airplane insurance and boat insurance with them in the past as well. I recommend them to anyone who qualifies- you need to be a military member to qualify.

Good luck, and let us know how it works out for you.

Are you in DC?

I just joined USAA and am opening a checking account with them. Does anyone currently have an investment account with them? I'm thinking about rolling over part of my TSP with them.

I have both a Roth IRA and a regular brokerage account with them. Not many bells and whistles, but they work fine and since I bank with them it makes things simple.

Thanks JTH. I'm probably open a rollover with them. I'll also keep my Roth and regular account with Scottrade. Can't have all your eggs in one basket.
