Hey, thanks!
I had my party yesterday at the Fort Belvoir Officers Club. Now I just need to carry all my gifts out to the car, say another goodbye/thanks to my staff, get a few more blocks checked on my checkout form, and start a new phase of my life.

Just relax for next sixty days and enjoy the retirement! Are you considering working for one of those "beltway bandits"? Where I worked and retired, the majority start back to work as contractor after retirement. I didn't even think about working again for six months. Then I thought about it for ten minutes, and that was the end of it. :)
Congratulations! What are you retiring to?

In the 9-10 years since I took an early retirement, I can't think of one single downside despite being the world's greatest cynic and bearish in almost all other areas. Congrats and enjoy. Best move I ever made.

Better. The pay is comfortable. However, I wouldn't call the job cushy.:cheesy:

Hey, thanks everyone.
1. I'm going to try pure "retiring". However, I've had a couple of "beltway bandit" offers, so who knows.
2. Yes, I'm going to continue posting and tallying.
3. I got my retiree's badge today. Happiest picture I've ever had on a badge.
4. Career time passes fast - at least it did for me. 37 years, just like yesterday. However, I didn't want to limp out or be carried out. :toung:
