I've taken an early retirement but am still active in the tsp managing spouse's account. Seems like a fine bunch here and I've been lurking, reading posts, and trying to learn enough lingo to add something to the talk. Unfortunately my ignorance will prevent me from adding too much of any use to the trader's here, but a in time I hope I can add something. I've spent more time with past performances charts of thoroughbreds than stock companies. Gambling is sometimes seen as an antithesis to investing but i see some similarities in using analysis of the past to predict future results. Look forward to chatting with all in the future.

Welcome aboard. You are very correct about applying the gambler mentality to this process. It is very much about hedging your bets, and just like gambling, their is skill and homework involved.

Welcome offtrack! Most daytraders have spent a lot of time at the track or the casinos. It's all the same to me. Somehow daytrading is more accepted. TSP is different though. The vig is cheaper. :D

Thank you all for the welcome. Glad to see there are fellow investors that like the thunder of hooves out there. I feel I already know all of you having read your posts while lurking and have already learned much from your posts and TSPtalk's analysis.
