I bank with USAA, and this morning my account shows a $1,200 deposit overnight from the IRS. The stimulus check made it that quick.

Thank you to the IRS employees who made that happen. It’s appreciated.

Why would our Wonderful Government pay people with a fixed income, retired, well off still getting that paycheck when we have 100s of 1000s of citizens with NO JOBS, 100s of thousands that were forced to shut down their SMALL BUSINESS and Laying off all of their EMPLOYEES that worked for the owners? Makes Me feel guilty for accepting that money, are they trying to BANKRUPT our Country? Something is seriously wrong HERE. 4812048122

My wonderful spouse and I have been wrestling with that as well. We found ways to share it with those who were adversely impacted by the covid. We are working on doing the same with these checks. By the way I agree with you about getting the money to those who really need it.

We donated our last stimulus check to the local food bank.

Because, perhaps, the goal is not really about helping people.

The whole thing is just a terrible idea. It clearly only benefits those already well off.

The only positive is that the $2,000 check did not get approved. If it did, from now on every new stimulus would have to beat the previous one.

I don't know the right way to do it though. I personally know one person who took the increased unemployment despite his employer offering him more hours. Why spend time at work when you can get (often more) money for free? (Shake my head.)

How many $600 deposits are going into Robinhood on Monday?

If you get the next stimulus check and you feel it's not right there is something you can do about it. Donate it to your local food bank or cash it out into $50's and go hand out the $50 dollar bills to some of the servers at some local restaurants.

We’re raising two of our grandkids, so I can always put extra money to work. I just hate that it’s being taken from them in the first place. The national debt WILL matter eventually. Debt is not good, whether it’s government, commercial or personal. It’s like our government has turned into the biggest payday loan shark there is.

I think that's part of the reason why crypto currencies are going bananas right now.

First, would one of the mods please move this thread somewhere else beside https://www.tsptalk.com/mb/market-notables/35930-got-my-stimulus-check Makes it hard to find. Market notables? All due respect to the OP of course😊.

I got my economic impact payment today. Don’t know how much yet, explanation will follow, probably after/with a rant.

I was going to post something earlier about wondering if everyone got an ACH deposit in to bank accounts. I did not back in May and I briefly wondered why as IRS has had my bank account info for 20 years and has successfully debited/credited the account for fed tax purposes. I chocked it up to being the efficiency of .gov. In May I got a paper check. Today I got something called an EIP card. I almost threw it out as it looks just like more junk mail or yet another scam.

From IRS.gov: “EIP Cards are sponsored by the Treasury Department’s Bureau of the Fiscal Service, managed by Money Network Financial, LLC and issued by Treasury’s financial agent, MetaBank®, N.A.”

Now I have to activate the card and give yet another financial institution more personal information plus my bank account information. Then probably pay an atm fee. I could break the entry of bank account information I suppose by withdrawing it in cash at a different bank. Wouldn’t matter, the Treasury’s financial agent, Metabank already has that. What a f***ing PITA. I am pretty sure when I activate the card I will be asked for my SSAN.

I agree with other posters here that this is a stupid program the way it is being managed. Most who post/read this MB do not need the money. Many people who have been unemployed for months do.

Yeah, I got my stimulus payment today.

My daughters family got their stimulus check.
They can use it. My daughter is an interior designer and her boss fired her in October last year saying the company was going in a different direction. Of course he kept the women he hired two months earlier that my daughter trained. She also believes the other women was making more than her. My daughter has worked for the company for over 7 years with no problems. Did I mention that when she was fired she was 7 months pregnant.
I haven't seen my check yet. If I get one we will figure out what charity to donate it to.

I got a letter from IRS today saying dated 1 Mar 21 telling me my EIP2 payment has been issued. No ****, like 8 Jan. What is the matter with this agency? Are they just in to wasting money? Does it mean they are going to issue it twice?

I got a letter today concerning the check in February advising that if I had not received the deposit within 5 days to check on it. A little bit late with that one, I’d say.

For whatever it is worth I got my economic impact payment 3 today. This time it was a direct deposit from IRS instead of a debit card.

I still feel this thread should be moved, perhaps to taxes and insurance.

I only got one stimulus check. Hummmm.... need to find out about number 2 . IRS has really been messing up. There were times last year where they would just not answer the phone at all....using the number they gave me to call. and during audit they tried to take a $2500 credit away from me (because they can't count and can't look back at prior year returns to see how many years credit was actually taken) and then replaced it with $500 earned income credit????? what???? I called and was on hold for an hour with that horrible music, transferred to two different departments with about 45 minutes on each hold. Finally got through, and said they would notate comments. Weeks later receive a letter where they closed it with no changes...lol....

Thank you for posting this. I have been calling IRS since last week. I called and got pre-screened and told them that I had received my first EIP Card a year ago just fine. I wanted to know why I had not received my EIP2 payment of $600 because GET MY PAYMENT said that they had scheduled my payment for mailing out Jan 6th 2021. They handed me off to someone who could check on the payment but they immediately said to call back later because they were inundated. IRS GET MY PAYMENT was offline over the weekend while they shifted to the new give away of $1400. They did say that people who received a 1440B statement and had a mail date of 1/6/2021 would get a payment by check or debit card. My 1440 B was sent in early February. So, I still think I will get something eventually but the IRS is totally overwelled which is why they have brought back the date that filing taxes is due. Thanks again :-)

I got my first check back when everybody was getting first checks. Direct deposit into my account.

I got the second one right on schedule, - the first week they came out. Straight to direct deposit.

On tuesday this week, Covid Stimulus Check number 3 showed up in my USAA Checking account direct deposit, regular as clockwork.

I want to thank the hard working people at the IRS who have been so kind to drop loads of cash in my direction, on time, with no problems. THANK YOU!

I wonder how many TSP millionaires will be getting a stimulus check?

Looks like we have a winner.

Woo Hoo! I made it to the top 1.26% and hit the mark, thanks in part, to everybody here. They say the first million dollars is the hardest part, that they get easier after that. We shall see! ;-)

Weren't you a GS-14, or equivalent?

No. I was a -13, and a Union rep, so even though I applied multiple times to -14 positions, I was never selected. I have a tendency to tell truth to power. That made it a bit more difficult. Luckily I survived.
