With all the links posted here lately, I thought it would be good to start a thread dedicated to our favorite links. Let’s not chatter in this thread but keep it to the bare minimum and post our favorite links. Let’s keep these federal news, retirement, market, or TSP related.

CNN World Markets (http://money.cnn.com/data/world_markets/) and INO Dollar Index (http://quotes.ino.com:801/chart/?s=NYBOT_DX) which are part of my I-fund calculations (http://www.tsptalk.com/mb/showthread.php?p=61625#post61625)

TSPGO’s World Markets Charts (http://www.tspgo.com/tspgoworldmarket.htm) which has now replaced Allstocks World Markets Charts ( http://www.allstocks.com/markets/World_Charts/world_charts.html ) that I used to use.

TSPTalk Yahoo market link ( http://finance.yahoo.com/q?s=^gspc+^dwcpf+efa+agg&d=t ) or Show-me’s Yahoo market link (http://finance.yahoo.com/q?s=%5EGSPC,%5EDWCPF,EFA,AGG,%5EN225,%5EN300,%5EAO RD,%5ENZ50,%5EFTSE,%5EGDAXI,%5EFCHI&d=s)

Helene Meisler (http://find.thestreet.com/cgi-bin/texis/author/?au=A0000338) at TheStreet.com who I think has a good handle on technical analysis of S&P 500. You have to subscribe to get more than the headlines.

MSCI daily performance (http://www.mscibarra.com/products/indices/stdindex/performance.jsp) after about 3:00 pm check here. Click on the date to bring up the calendar and change to today's date to get daily numbers. This is how people in I-fund thread get the actual MSCI daily numbers.

Systemtrader’s website (http://www.tspkey.com/index.html) it is hard to argue with his record (22.6% as of end of Oct.) If he was still posting here it would be tough to catch him. This is a pay site.

Good site that recently folded… (http://mytsp.us/index.html) (If you are reading this Doug Kramer, tell us who you are.) I post this here out of respect for the site.

TSP Companion (http://home.earthlink.net/~rog02/index.html) has good charts of TSP funds.

TSPgo (http://www.tspgo.com/tspgoframes.htm) definitely has interesting stuff. I’ve tried to learn some stuff in order to modify my own method.

TSPExpert (http://tspexpert.com/) Currently free, it will eventually be a pay site. I’ll read what they say for now and just check them out.

TSP Money. (http://www.tspmoney.com/tspm_index.php) I used to read this site more but not so much lately.

Space Weather Conditions (http://sec.noaa.gov/) or Current Solar Data (http://www.n3kl.org/sun/noaa.html) or Geomagnetic Storms (http://sec.noaa.gov/NOAAscales/#GeomagneticStorms) based on Robo’s Post (http://www.tsptalk.com/mb/showpost.php?p=52416&postcount=22) (I’m not sold on this concept but I’m watching…)

I also read Tom’s stuff daily, Rev Shark occasionally (especially when things get shakey), and of course y’all on the MB.

I’ll post some more later. Post your favorites so we get them all in one place.

He also lies. He says on his site he made a return of 16.07% last year. How come we have him as 7.62%?

Good question, lets ask him.

I think discussion of pay sites is a legit topic for TSPtalk. We (and you) have certainly discussed a bunch of others. [For others unaware, mlk_man and systemtrader had an ongoing sparring match... mostly one sided. ] You should be glad he did take you up on the challenge like dumbedore did. ;)

Now if you want to discuss this further, let's take it to another thread and keep this one clean for the purpose I described.

I wish he would of. And please remind me of advertising other paysites? We have a true professional here in RevShark, why would direct competitors be advertised here?

And the proof has been documented. Not saying anything that isn't true.

Hello everone,

It's been awhile since I posted. As for the so-called "lie," the Performance page clearly says:

"These results are based on backtesting (1/1/1997 to 9/26/2005) and real-time results since 9/27/2005."

I made several key changes to my system in mid-September of 2005. I mentioned them in my folder here. That system--the one from Sep. 2005 to present--is what the recommendations are based on. It wouldn't be accurate to give results based on my old system.

Therefore, the 2005 results are based on backtesting that system from 1/1/2005 to 9/26/2005 and then on my real-time recommendations (posted in my folder here) from 9/27 to 12/31 of 2005.

I'm planning to take down the backtested results after the end of the calendar year, anyway. I'll only show real-time results that begin in 2006. If it's that big of a deal, I can do this before year end.

Regards,
ST

It's a good place to see TSP and market news and links. I wouldn't have heard about Causey's TSP show (among other things) if I didn't stop in here once in a while. Ideas? no. There are some good traders here but I've always done my own research.

As for a challenge, Fundsurfer keeps up with my results. But if you're looking for a mud-slinging rant-fest, please look elsewhere. I have no interest in that.

Peace out,
ST

Weatherweenie, are you using Yahoo's site with the 20 minute delay to get the price for Nikkei 300?

This Japanese site is more up-to-date: http://www.nni.nikkei.co.jp/CF/FR/MKJ/

But if you want an even more up-to-date ticker with Yahoo's automatic update functionality (with % incl.), I use this link:

Nikkei 225: http://www.marketwatch.com/tools/quotes/basic.asp?siteid=mktw&sid=123712&symb=JP:1804610

Nikkei 300: http://www.marketwatch.com/tools/quotes/basic.asp?siteid=mktw&sid=125497&symb=JP:1885002

It took me some time to figure out how to get the symbols from MarketWatch, but it's worth it because it lets me check the Japanese site and then the MarketWatch site to take a peek into the future (it's about a minute ahead).

Thanks, FundSurfer! Might as well add these, too. :)

Credit cards are the root of much evil.

Not too sure that I agree with you about this...

I have this card: http://www.creditcards.com/credit-cards/chase-perfect-credit-card.php

It has the following perks:
Earn a 6% rebate on all gasoline purchases for the first 90 days your account is open
Earn a 3% rebate on all gasoline purchases after the 90 day introductory period
Earn a 1% rebate on all purchases

I put all my bills and gas purchases on this card and save lots of money. Last year I averaged saving about $30-$40 a month just by moving my bills onto this card.

Credit cards arent the root of much evil---overspending is.
