[$$] Asia stocks gain as US-China trade tensions ease
“China and the United States are working well together on trade, but past negotiations have been so one sided in favor of China, for so many years, that it is hard for them to make a deal that benefits both countries. Asia-Pacific equities started the week mostly in positive territory after signs of easing tension between the US and China over trade, and following the biggest weekly rise for the S&P 500 in two months. China-focused stocks in Hong Kong were among the best performers, with the Hang Seng China Enterprises Index climbing 1.5 per cent to its highest since March 22.
