This is not financial advice nor investment recommendations. It's a list of some stocks, some of which have been mentioned in other crypto-currency threads, related to blockchain and / or cryptos. They have been moving wildly lately and could provide good short-term trading opportunities on the long and short side.

If you know of any, please post here. Thanks!

ACN

CRCW

GAHC

GBTC

LFIN

OSTK

RIOT

Again, not investment recs, just possible trading vehicles. I've been in and out of a few of them over the last few months.

Another crypto warning from the guy who was shorting GBTC at $1000 a few weeks ago, which is now over $3000.

Be careful shorting these. It reminds me of trying to short internet stocks in 1999. You got slaughtered, no matter how right you were eventually.

CRCW was suspended by the SEC today.

Just because it went from $3 to over $600 in a few weeks?

It sounds like they were manipulating the price themselves. Average trading volume was only about 5000 shares a day. Dangerous.

If I had to pick one of these to put money in, which would be the best bet? I don't want to drop $3,000 for one share of GBTC, so which of the others is the most solid?

I guess it depends on if you want to invest in a crypto-currency, or a blockchain technology stock. Not that I have the answer, but it may narrow your choices.

GBTC is invested in the cryptos where someone like RIOT is trying to become a blockchain company, although they are being exposed for possibly overstating their abilities.

Overstock may be the most credible of the bunch as far as having a successful track record at something, although ACN looks solid too. The bigger the risk, the bigger the possible gains ... or losses.

Ripple is a crypto-currency, not a crypto stock, but yeah it's time we gave the alt-currencies their own thread so I will copy your post to a new thread.

GBTC was over $3500 at yesterday's highs before closing near $3000. Today it pulled back below $2300 temporarily. Whether you love or hate cryptos, the trading is great.

I tried to short LFIN this week and RIOT last week on my Ameritrade account. Was rejected and I couldn't short either! Option puts were sick spreads and low to no volume. I definately will not be buying either. I do own GBTC and have dry powder if another dot com. Presents itself.

One share at $3000.00 with a 10% gain is the same return as a $3,000.00 investment in a $5.00 stock and owning 600 shares with a 10% gain. Buy the 800lb gorilla in the space regardless of price per share. Why I add to my Amazon position although it expensive.

I agree. But I don't want to put that kind of money into crypto currency stocks right now. I have other money already in it and not interested in increasing that position by that much right now.

Which crypto stock did you buy? I'm always looking for new places to invest. Thanks

I'm 7 for 7 in trading GBTC this year. My latest trade was the biggest, made over $7K in 2 days...I sold Monday morning when it was at $3,050 and was kicking myself a few hours later for selling.
But boy am I glad I sold though, what a beating, down almost 50% from the peak in one day! These things are nuts and they've served their purpose for me and I'm staying away. My Roth IRA soared by well over 100% this year thanks mostly to GBTC (with other crazy trades like UVXY thrown in), but good riddance, I was so freaking lucky!

I bought some RIOT this morning for $30, where there was an open gap. It's down to $27 already after filling a lower gap near $25. There's yet another gap near $15 so watch out. Wild suckers.

This is not an investment since these are not companies I know much about. I'm just looking for quick strikes on volatile stocks. Careful!

Despite my objections the whole way up, my wife held onto 3 shares of GBTC so she got the entire gain. This week she's paying the price for that buy hold. Still, she may have made more than me with my in and out trades.

A little crazy, but I bought just 33 shares of that one so there wasn't too much at stake. :)

GBTC is the one that has hurt after buying some at $2300 the other day, but fortunately it's up about 30% off this morning's lows. My wife is the crazy one as she buys and holds.

Most of the companies taking hair cuts along with the currencies themselves today. Only one in the green that I see is GBTC, maybe because it was dropping over the last few days already and needed to consolidate.

What a wild day for most crypto-stocks, but especially GBTC, which is now up 13% on the day...

An $850 spread between the high and low, looks to be trying to close at the highs.

I bought a bunch of GAHC at 0.038 a share. I think this is the first "penny" stock I've ever owned. Tiny company. 23M market cap. I like the midterm chart .

Good luck! Some advice on that one. It seems to drift sideways to lower most of the time, then it gets a very quick sharp spike higher every once in a while, but it doesn't last long. You might want to put in a sell limit order at some price you think it could hit, because it's easy to miss that spike.
