NSA has massive database of Americans' phone calls

The National Security Agency has been secretly collecting the phone call records of tens of millions of Americans, using data provided by AT&T, Verizon and BellSouth, people with direct knowledge of the arrangement told USA TODAY.
The NSA program reaches into homes and businesses across the nation by amassing information about the calls of ordinary Americans — most of whom aren't suspected of any crime. This program does not involve the NSA listening to or recording conversations. But the spy agency is using the data to analyze calling patterns in an effort to detect terrorist activity, sources said in separate interviews.

Time to use pay phones again?

I'm not a Bush appologist, and far from a supporter, but I don't see the big deal. The government is just using data on phone numbers called, calling time, length and etc to try and find terrorist cells. The data is being searched by supercomputers. There isn't some spook somewhere looking at your last phone bill trying to decide if all of your calls to grandma indicate you are a terrorist and send out the SWAT team.

So the answer is yes, use pay phones if you are a terrorist and while you are at it never use the same phone twice. Or, just switch to Qwest. QWEST up 0.6% so far today.
