U.S. economy, GDP grew 3.1 percent in second quarter
The U.S. economy grew by 3.1 percent in the second quarter, according to an upwardly revised estimate by the U.S. Department of Commerce. BEA has previously pegged second-quarter GDP growth at 2.6 percent and then 3 percent. “Real gross domestic income (GDI) increased 2.9 percent in the second quarter, compared with an increase of 2.7 percent in the first,” BEA analysts wrote in this morning’s analysis.
