I've got theories, but I grew up in New England, so it might be biased from what I see on facebook.

I'm curious why people here hate the patriots?

Note I am NOT a patriots fan, so you won't hurt my feelings. :cheesy:

I hear only 33% of the bets went on the Falcons so far, yet the line on the game never moved off of -3. Sounds like the big (smart?) money is betting on Atlanta.

For the record, I went with the dumb money and bet on the Patriots. The reason? I think Brady realizes, at 39 years old, he won't get many more chances, if any. This is it, and add to that the suspension to start the season and he seems to be on a mission to stick it to everyone.

As stated in a prior post, I am not a fan of the Pats at all and would have preferred to root for the Falcons, but Brady and Belichick are tough to bet against.

I also took a bet that a field goal will be made before a touchdown. At +150, I like the bet. At even money it would have been a decent bet but +150? Couldn't resist.

With a game ending, winning field goal;

Falcons 31
Patriots 28

I despise Brady and the entire Patriots organization. I do admit they are one tough team and will probably have the upper hand, however even though the Falcons beat by beloved Packers, I am behind Atlanta all the way. I may have to take a TSP loan out on Monday if the Yankees win :worried: or make a over/50 catch up deposit if they lose.

No go on +3.5. No casino is offering that.

At -3, if Pats win by 3 it's a push / tie.

So, I'll give 3, no more, if you're interested.

I don't know enough about sports betting to put money on the line, but it seemed the Falcons scoring first bets were pretty good odds... there is a very high chance the Falcons start with the ball, as the Patriots almost always defer to the 2nd half if they win the coin toss.

Kickoff should be earlier. 3:30 - 4:00 would be perfect. Party started at 1:00. The keg is starting to float a little.
The pre-game filler gets more and more over top with each passing year.
Ga-Ga gets the Mute button at halftime. We'll watch her shake her moneymaker overdubbed with some a Led Zeppelin, or maybe some Chris Stapleton. Need to air out my Klipsch speakers.
Enjoy everybody!

I agree kickoff should be earlier since many need to go to work tomorrow. Are you talking EST?

It had to be sweet revenge getting that trophy from Goodell. And then Kraft had a few choice words.

According to the Super Bowl Stock Market Theory, a win by the champion of the National Football Conference (NFC) predicts an up year for the stock market, while a victory by an American Football Conference (AFC) team indicates a down year.

Believe it or not, the league affiliation of the winning team has correctly predicted the direction of the Dow Jones Industrial Average in all but eight Super Bowls.

It might be hard to believe, but this wacky indicator has been accurate 37 out of the 45 years the Super Bowl has been played. That's a record of 82.2 percent accuracy since the very first Super Bowl in 1967.

A PATRIOTS WIN (AFC) MEANS THE STOCK MARKET WILL END LOWER THAN IT STARTED THIS YEAR.

When this theory is wrong, it's wrong big time. In 2008 the NFC won and the S&P dropped 38%. In 2013 the AFC won and the market went up 29%. No thanks.
