Local shares barely changed in early trade
[AAP] - The benchmark S&P/ASX200 was down 0.01 per cent in the first hour of trade, with gains in materials shares being offset by weakness in financial stocks. "The momentum in the short term is still to the upside, although investors are becoming more cautious ahead of the Trump inauguration," Bell Direct equities analyst Julia Lee said. In the local market, financial stocks were among the main losers, with ANZ and National Australia Bank both in the red, and insurers QBE and Insurance Australia Group down about one per cent each.
