Howdy all,

Let me apologize in advance if this is a well worn topic. Please direct me to the thread if so since i'm usually very pressed for time (doing searches).

My question concerns the performance of the TSP talk allocations vs individual fund performance. Would I have done better to just leave my money in (let's say) the C fund in 2005 vs following this site's allocation strategy? ..if I read the numbers correctly, it sure seems that way and in general, how has this site performed vs (let's say) the C fund since it's founding.

Once again, let me apologize (if i'm reading the numbers correctly), but it seems like it's all too easy to be *into* playing an "analysis" game rather than doing well. Please, no disrespect intended - I just want to understand what's going on here.

Bob, the C fund was up 4.96% last year. You can take a look at people's returns who post here and draw your own conclusion:

Good luck,

Welcome Bob -
In 2005 the TSP Talk active account lagged the C fund by 4.5%. However from 2000 through 2005 it is ahead by 22%.

Also, we have a longer term outlook - buy and hold - allocation that beat the C fund by 3.5% in 2005. http://www.tsptalk.com/longer_term.html
