MORNING BID EUROPE-After the talk, ECB set to act
[Reuters - UK Focus] - The ECB has for weeks been talking up the likelihood of more stimulus at its rate-setting meeting today but what measures it will take is still up in the air. The Governing Council is expected to debate a wide range of options, from a fairly uncontroversial deposit rate cut to a highly unorthodox scheme to buy up bundled non-performing loans. Other proposals under discussion have included more extreme ideas, like a two-tier deposit rate that would punish banks parking too much cash with the central bank instead of lending the money (we'd need to check what the fall-out for banks would be if that happens).
