so if i read that link right, visa is hot and rolling in the dough on earnings because they had a good year. all total, all transactions across the visa network, every single debit or credit visa wipe processed in the whole wide world for one year, equals $1.2 trillion dollars.

that's it, 1.2 trillion dollars? pffft. heck we got 18 trillion dollars of currently owed fed gov debt just in the u.s. that's like 16 years worth the value of every credit transaction in the world. and if you count all the unfunded (promised but not borrowed or due yet) spending like social security and medicare, then we are 60 trillion dollars in the hole. that is about fifty years (a half a century!) worth of transactions if we put it all on every credit card in the universe.

i don't really understand that math. it is too big and unreal for my brain. i think we better be real nice to our lenders. otherwise they got us in debt slavery for a lifetime. happy birthday kid, here's the bill. my god, what have we done?
