It seems TSP does not take enough of my check. I want to invest a few thousand in something like TSP, that tracks the indexes. Does anyone have any suggestions, or can my bank (USAA) do this for me?

Vanguard has low cost index funds that are similar to the TSP funds, i.e. total market bonds, S&P 500, Wilshire 4500, and MS EAFE.

rokid gave some good choices!

You have an account with USAA, thats a choice! With their investment funds!

Have you considered a on-line broker. There are ETF's that match the TSP funds, plus gobs of others.

A point to consider is placing all the eggs in one basket. TSP is tax deferred. A tax paid investment account is a alternate.

You young guys/gals have a lot of options that were not available years ago. Just be careful and choose wisely!

Take your time to learn and be the manager of your own portfolio. Once you learn, you can do as good if not better than others that choose to letXYZ handle their funds

Rgds! and be careful! :) Spaf
