Interesting Wikipedia controversy about TSPTALK from a few years ago. Funny how the tsp board made a change that backfired and caused more costs than it prevented.

Are we now going down a path with tsp having more funds to choose? And maybe more transactions allowed per month? Sorrow if I am ignorant about what has been happening.

basically when TSP owners of their own money were allow to re-balance every day the owners were making more money then the tsp directors and their buddies who run the funds. so they changed the rules so they can make more money. I believe the board members are political appointees, which a whole other story of the select making more money at our expense.

James48843 (member here) started the page and documented some of the issue at the time.

It is amazing those days are almost 7 years ago, with the controversy.

I think it needs a little touch up and may go through the page and add some information.

I remember being a NOOB back then, but understanding you could basically day-trade your tsp funds.
