Moon Shots

I'm going to start this thread so we can post pictures of the moon during various stages. I welcome others on the forum to share their photos.

This picture was taken of the lunar eclipse from the Big Island, Hawaii at 1:43am. It is also know as a Blood Moon because of its copper color. Hawaii will not see another lunar eclipse until January 30, 2019.

I just came out of the supermarket and happened to see it here in Okinawa. My daughter had mentioned it earlier in the morning. She follows the events of the world better than I do these days!

Not great quality, but the best I could do with an iPhone.

Watching that movie "Interstellar" that just came out on DVD a few days ago has me back fascinated with these topics. Love the sights of an eclipse or the rare chance to see Mars, Venus, or Jupiter on a clear night every so often.

Today, Easter Sunday, I was up before dawn and decided to go and photograph the moon as it was setting and hopefully capture the sunrise, give thanks and appreciation to my Lord, Jesus Christ, for all the blessings he has given me and for the beauty He created on this planet.

* side note - I may not have given enough thanks because when I returned to my car I had a dead battery....:D I love a guy with a sense of humor. OTOH...I did chat with a few tourists, they brought me a cup of coffee and we had a pleasant morning while I waited for AAA.
