January 14, 2015

Congressman Gerry Connolly (D-VA), joined by 31 cosponsors, Tuesday introduced legislation in the House to provide a 3.8 percent pay raise to federal workers. H.R. 304, The Federal Adjustment of Income Rates (FAIR) Act would provide the pay hike to all federal employees in 2016. A companion bill, sponsored by Senators Brian Schatz (D-HI) and Ben Cardin (D-MD), was introduced in the Senate.

Won't hold my breath. All the co-sponsors are democrat, & the house is republican majority. Expecting if at anything, 1.25%, hey it's an improvement right?

Ryan and the republicans proposed a pay freeze - 0% for 2015. Dems proposed a 3.6%. we got a 1%. It's better than the republican proposal.

We might want to try to keep the "Obbummers" or "Boehnead" comments out and just focus on the facts. No reason to turn this into partisan politics.

We're entitled to our own opinions but we're not entitled to our own facts. See James comment below where the House stating there should be NO pay increase and that federal workers were already overpaid. Since Congress did not enact any pay increase, under law the Presidents recommendation becomes law and his recommendation then was 1%, or basically 1% more than House wanted. From article below:

Should be much higher considering we got our pay frozen for 3 years. Still, the republican congress won't be having any of that.
