Welcome again Grandma! :^

Y'all remember back in January & February when there were a lot of postings regarding `years ending in 5' ? ...and about post/pre election years? ...and - other stuff??

Is it too early to reach a conclusion about how this year faired? I know I was in the wrong place most of the time!

I remember thinking that the opening day of Jan. would be wonderful; real wrong, remember? seems like I and some others have all twisted and turned wrong every step!! And who could predict hurricaines and oil up the wazoo! Maybe there is something to that "5" ending number/election year deal. Does this mean that next year should be lots better:shock:! Sure hope so.....

Quote (http://www.tsptalk.com/mb/reply.php?topic_id=1090&post_id=12281&quote=1):For the past 120 years, every year ending in a "5" has been up. However, in the past 32 years, 60% of all years in which January was down was also a down year. Which trend will hold? What do your indicators say? :)

- - - - -

Before that Teckno posted article: '05 sparkling; and before that W_W posted article: '05 cloudy. And we had a lot of discussion on thelegends that go w/marketing. So I was just wondering if the 'down January' is holding true with 2005. I think we ruled out the `which league wins the SuperBowl.' HOWEVER , baseball is king now,has the winner of the Pennant ever been found to have a bearing?? ...we gonna have to wait for March & the Fab 4 to make any headway? Namor will surely help us out in the office pools again! 'course some of use will have to slip around and try to find which parking lot the pools are operating out of to be able to take part!

Hey - how about the race to the World's Pennant...which teams will that be ..???

second attempt, being timed out i think - hunt and peck!
i am overwhelmed by your responses, and i want you all to know how much i appreciate them! my wrist is pinned, casted, and does not give alot of pain unless turned `wrong' way, or lowered below my ampit! the tail bone is another story - i didnn't know it was involved in so many movements of the body: walk in straight line, no bending/twisting,; even with the `space-age sponge' donut cushion, difficult to stay still very long. my kids and friends are taking good care of me
now the concern is for the ongoing attack the weather is doing to our okie, missouri, texan buddies. i saw mcalestar and area on the fox news - whoa! spaf, dakota, show-me, and the rest of you are in my prayers!
but - guys - whatever you do, do'nt try to use an ice encrusted vehicle for a steadying base when out walking aroun it !!
TAKE CARE AND - AGAIN - THANK YOU !!

Wednesday had the temp cast changed to one of those `weigh-a-ton' cement/plaster-of-paris/newfangled wraps. Saturday my arm shrunk, could stck my good hand down into the cast. Sunday my hand shrunk. Monday I could pull the cast off - except my thumb wouldn't get out of the way. So got it cut off, replaced - I did stick with the Neon Green color, tho! Grandma,
Ever since I read this I keep wondering how you're doing and can't shake this 'painful foot' and 'awkward walking'.

Well anyway driving home last night AC/DC's 'Who Made Who' came on and I just happened to have you on my mind when the song came on and I pictured 'you' or a representation of you doing a little movement with one of the better parts of the song.

So -- hope you're doing well and let me know when you're up for the video shoot.

Thank you, Merlin - I hope everyone ends up with what they need from this market stuff !!

I am going to Truly Enjoy this weekend - I have three days for frequent logging into the Auto-tracker & and gazing at me sitting at #60! The fluke has to be because too many (100 ? 150?) slipped and fell - which they expect to be remedied come Monday!! I hope that for each of them, too! The air is a little sparse this high up & I'm not used to it!!
It is getting difficult to recognize `who's talking' anymore! You guys are changing your faces - your avatar's, faster than the plunge - is it the market ??? Whatever - I see some fine looking young men out there !!!
And I (nearly) always enjoy seeing what Buster is going to `fit to the occasion' !

And Steady- what can I say? - cuz not only do I not recognize you either, I am having difficulty relating your note to me - :o
I think, dear boy, you were trying to catch up on your charting at work, and meant to send this to : ? ? ? - whomever it was that posted a note, yesterday, I think - telling you to check the tracker ??

Hi Grandma and Handballer! I hope you, yours and your accounts are doing well.

Bluehenge

Hi Granny Warbucks !

This message from Bluehenge made me think of you last night.

Sarah is now back in S. Korea after spending 3 weeks in Mozambique. She went there as a personal Spiritual Retreat (Gospel for Asia) type of thing .... which is why I thought of you. Anyway we knew the Spirit was majorly active in that part of the world .. poorest place in the world .... with lots of miracles happening all over the place.

She mixed with about 8 others who came from other parts of the world; quite a few from Australia -- and felt more renewed and charged up than ever before. Said she and the others bonded so much that it was just amazing and she had never had that deep and close of a bonding with any other group of friends.

She, and all the others there (who have been to many other poor areas of the globe) had never seen poverty to the degree they dealt with there. But the people are so open to God's Grace and it was beautiful and she witnessed some pretty huge miracles. Sarah now feels she has a gift for 'prayer'. Her friends see her as a Spiritual Giant that will draw many to His Grace.

So I thought that was really cool :):D:D

Anyway thought I'd share that with you.

BTW -- you ought to link up with Bluehenge. Oh and I forgot my other post :embarrest: -- sorry about that -- I only said that to make everyone look at what you said on the AT -- which I think was a bunch of symbols ... but there is no way possible anyone could have remotely thought you were saying the stuff I said.

OK - enough --- come on back now --ya hear

When you said something about me not 'Standing on your shoulders' as I'm climbing the AT ... I didn't give it much thought.

Well the fresh cookies I ordered for when I caught up just arrived and I now see where you are. You're all the way up in heaven (Top 50) and there are 4 layers of hell seperating us  ....

.... so I'll eat these on the way up and get another batch when I get closer  Lots of good cold fresh milk coming too.

This `only two/month' transfers are really hurting me now that it appears there is some money to be made in tsp!
I can't make a move until December, but that may be to my good for the moment as I again have very little access to internet; and if I had been able to move to `S' like everyone else, I would be sick with wondering if I had any funds left! My Thanksgiving week in northern Virginia got interrupted with a phone call from Texas, my daughter broke both her wrists in a fall at the hospital where her husband was having surgery... So I am near Corpus Christie for awhile....
I want to make mention that Travelocity did a great job of getting me flights out of Dulles and into Corpus by noon Thanskgiving Day.

Oh, shoot! :embarrest: - I hope I said `thank you' to you folks somewhere on this board! If not, please accept my acknowledgment of your birthday greetings now!
I don't read my page any more often than anyone else does!!!

The reason for today's missive: when I entered my IFT change last Thursday, 7/7, I was working at a
luncheon, escaped long enough to get to a computer & make an IFT change; but I didn't have
access to a printer. Later, I simply saw what I expected to see.

Today I find that my 7/7 IFT entry, in reality over at the Official TSP Home transfer request
page, was placed totally backwards.... I have no doubts it was my error.

This is not a plea for a change in the tracker entry last week, it is simply to submit my numbering may
be a .01 or 2 above what's listed !! :D:laugh:

Hi grandma

Thought I'd drop in for a visit.

Tracking ships can be fun. Another site you could try is www.marinetraffic.com (http://www.marinetraffic.com). You should see a world map with green rectangles on it. Click on the rectangle you think the ship should be in and you will see it if it is in that area. The site is slow to update sometimes. You can also search for ships by name. If they are not inside one of the green rectangles, they will not show up. It doesn't mean they disappeared, just we can't see them for free. Here is a location I picked up about an hour ago.
15119
The ship has since gone out of range of the free tracking. The sailwx.info place usually gets updated at least every 12 hours.

Don't worry about your grandson. He is having a good time and loving all the food and fun. The owners of those ships will not take any risks with them. They cost too much and bring in a lot of money.

All my best

I'm back. Stalking cruise ships can be fun.

I found another position at http://www.marinetraffic.com/ais/shipdetails.aspx?mmsi=311020700. No guarantee that URL will work tomorrow. I got there by searching for "AIS tracking Nassau". No telling what you will get but that's different cookies set I think.

It's about 2330 ship's time so your grandson is probably enjoying one of the disco's, playing pingpong or pool, enjoying one of the group activities; definitely eating something. If the Allure is anything like the Radiance, there was a "free" soft ice cream machine every 50 feet. I ate more ice cream that week then I probably did in the last 20 years.

You are right - this is fun - knowing the sites makes the difference. Thank you for sending them!

As for the worry part, if it is something I have no control over, then prayer will suffice.
I learned long ago that the phrase: "Your Kingdom come, Your will be done in earth as it is in Heaven,
(and in the lives of my grandson, his maternal family outings, the crew, the ship, even as it is in Heaven...")
works wonders for me. ...whether it is about the grandkids, extended family, whatever -

However, though, if I think of it:D I might wonder whether the insurance company that holds my pre-paid burial policy will still be solvent in another 20 years !! ;)
-which, incidentally, if any of you are still around, you're invited to, should you be of the nature that requires invites to such of that!!

-oh, yeah, the tsp annuity - well - it is either there or it isn't! I might get pretty ticked at my choices, but not even caffeine can keep me from sleeping - nearly instantly!

I really appreciate the info updates! Thank you again!

Oh, yeah, thanks for reminding me. We are supposed to talk about our accounts. You are doing better than myself so far. It has not been a great month or so.

That attitude you have about worry, those words are familiar to me.

My pleasure to send the links. If you have any difficulties with them or questions about them, please ask.

I appreciate the invite if I outlive you. That insurance company probably will still pay up if some of the antecedents know the policy exists.

Regards

Thanx much for the greetings! All kids, grand and great grand kids ( minus the one teaching in Japan) gathered. In spite of area buried in ice/snow, most everything shut down for several days, including the University, difficulty with air travel for guests, we had a great time. Best part was surprising me with unexpected visit by west coast sibling!

Actually quite well, hale & hearty. Staying busy with variety of things, including winters at daughter's place in Fulton, TX. And hiding in the bathtub when the NWS phones & says 'take cover now' here in the Ozarks! And thank you for your kind words..
I do need to get a new TSPtalk Mug, but can't seem to locate that particular place with the new samples from a year or two ago.
Take care, be prosperous in all....
