There may not be a jobs report this Friday due to the government shutdown, but if we're back in business in the next couple of days or weeks, let's get the contest started...

Update: Report will be released on Tuesday October 22.

September jobs report contest: Make your predictions on the number of jobs gained / lost in the month??

You can't pick a number already taken and each guess must be rounded to 1000's. (ex: +201,000, -14,000, +195,000, +176,000, -5,000, etc. - no 100's)

There's a travel mug up for grabs for the closest pick.

The deadline may float until we know exactly when the report will be.

Thanks!

I wonder if the October report will include those furloughed? Could trigger a crash if it did, but I think it should include them if it goes the whole month.

Just took a look - no change to the estimates. Still +183,000.

Everybody's guessing below the estimate... :suspicious: I'll go the other way then. +200K.

Can I make another guess? Seems like having 3 additional weeks to make an educated guess is advantageous.

'Nothing ventured, Nothing lost'? Wait.....you don't have to venture anything here but a guess!

How about 'Nothing ventured, yet Something possibly won' !!

C'mon.....make a guess! Join the fun!

I decided not to change my guess. Every time I do that with my football picks it turns out to be the wrong move.

Congrats MrBowl! And you were right about not changing your mind. Almost talked yourself out of it. :)

PM me your shipping info for the Travel Mug!
